Foundation Christmas card competition winners announced

Over 80 pupils from Manchester United Foundation partner schools entered a competition set by the Club, to design a United-themed Christmas card.

The competition was so strong that Manchester United personnel picked two overall winners: Hajra, a student at Great Academy Ashton, and Daniella, from Dean Trust Wigan, who will both receive a pair of tickets to a match at Old Trafford in the new year. Our gallery features the two winning entries, as well as a few other examples of the festive designs submitted by the students.

Jordanna Roberts, primary schools manager for the Foundation said: “Manchester United is a huge family, so for our children to be made to feel a part of that is fantastic. Some of these pupils might not normally get the chance to attend a first-team match, plus the chance to see their work on the club website, it’s an incredible early Christmas treat for them.”

The experience for the students also aligns with the Foundation’s Santa’s Red Helpers campaign, which offers opportunities for young people at its partner schools and projects, as well as supporting local communities and families over the winter period.

This year’s campaign is once again supporting FareShare Greater Manchester, and the Club and Foundation have pledged £100,000 to provide 400,000 meals for those in need this Christmas.

The Foundation has also hosted Christmas activities and parties for participants, and Manchester United players have lent their support by wrapping presents, signing items and recording messages for fans and patients at local hospitals.
