Snowdon at sunrise

Join us for a breathtaking experience at Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) as we watch the sun rise from the summit of Snowdon!

You will scale the iconic Welsh mountain from stars to sunrise, while raising funds for Manchester United Foundation. The Foundation is the associated charity of Manchester United and in the 2023/24 season positively impacted the lives of more than 42,000 young people.

Our work – established as a lasting legacy to the Busby Babes – includes community outreach and educational programmes, using the power of football to encourage young people to build a better life for themselves.

You can play your part in supporting this continued charitable work in the heart of Manchester and in other areas of outreach across the UK by taking on this unforgettable adventure in the heart of Snowdonia. Lace up your hiking boots and get ready for an early-morning experience to remember!

What is the format of the event?

Registration for the event will take place in Llanberis Community Centre, where you have the chance to network with your fellow hikers. Light refreshments will be available. You will receive a safety briefing from qualified Mountain Leaders before starting the hike at around midnight.

How long does the hike take?

On average, the hike takes approximately 6-7 hours; accounting for both the ascent and descent. We will also be taking regular breaks throughout the hike. At the end of the hike, we will return to the Llanberis Community Centre, where breakfast and drinks will be served.

Where can I park for the event?

There are various pay and display car parks in Llanberis village where overnight parking is available.

How fit do I need to be to do the hike?

A reasonable level of fitness will be required to take on the hike. However, the group will be split into multiple smaller-sized groups to accommodate different fitness levels. Each group will be accompanied by a qualified Mountain Leader for support and guidance.

What will I need to bring with me?

A full kit list will be provided ahead of the event with a list of essential and suggested items you may wish to bring for the hike.

Who will be taking part in the event?

We can accommodate up to 100 hikers, which will be made up of fellow Manchester United fans from across the UK and beyond. There will also be Manchester United Foundation staff in attendance with some familiar faces too.
