Leave your United Legacy

Manchester United has a history built on legacies and now, through the Foundation, you can create your own. By leaving a gift in your Will you can help to inspire and unite future generations.

Our club is an institution synonymous with investing faith in young talent. The Academy’s proud record of having a graduate player in the first-team squad for every game since 1937 is a cornerstone of what makes Manchester United great.

Leaning on this ethos, Manchester United Foundation believes that all young people should have a choice in determining how their life is going to play out, no matter what their background or circumstance. We work tirelessly throughout the year, using the power and passion of Manchester United to give these youngsters the opportunity to be the best that they can be – and now you can help too.

From 6-12th September 2021 is #RememberACharityWeek, a campaign focused on encouraging people to leave a legacy gift to a charity of their choice in their Will.

We know how passionate our fanbase is and how the love of Manchester United dominates lives, something that is often passed down through the generations. A donation, no matter how big or small, can make a huge difference to future generations across Greater Manchester.

Club ambassador Bryan Robson is no stranger to the Foundation and the importance of its work.

“Developing the potential in young people is something that the club has always been about, right back to Sir Matt Busby and continued through Sir Alex Ferguson,” Bryan said. “The Foundation do this very well and have become a pillar of the local community, and I know that United fans support this important work 100% and we all want it to continue for the benefit of generations to come.”

This is a sentiment shared by many Reds, including Executive Season Ticket holder John Massey, who echoed Bryan’s words and pledged his own support.

“As a lifelong supporter, the work the Foundation does in the community gives me a sense of pride. Using the story of Manchester United to inspire young people is an extremely powerful way of helping them to better themselves in life, something that the club has always stood for.

“Like many, the club has been a really important part of my life and something that has brought my family and I a lot of joy. While I hope it won’t be for a good few years yet, I intend to leave a legacy gift for the Foundation and I would encourage others to do the same, ensuring that their important work can continue.”

Any gift you can give makes a huge difference and will enable us to continue our vital work by providing support and development in areas of physical and emotional development, social wellbeing, and education and employability.

“In the areas we work, children simply wouldn’t otherwise be afforded the opportunities that we can give them,” said Jordanna Roberts, the Foundation’s primary schools manager. “As the nurses, doctors, scientists and teachers of the future, it’s so important that they are given the chance to flourish.

“We all know that this club is built on legacies created by people who were allowed to shine as youngsters, and through gifts from fans we can make sure this continues to happen.”
