The event will take place at Stretford Sports Village on Greatstone Road and is a fantastic opportunity for communities to get together and participate in a friendly competitive football competition.  In doing this, the tournament will honour the legacy of the FIFA World Cup.

Through the Foundation’s partnership with Stretford High School, young people and wider communities are encouraged to take part in sporting activities such as football, celebrated in a competitive and friendly atmosphere.  In addition, this opportunity allows the multi-cultural community to partake in sporting activities together, thus promoting healthy lifestyles and positive relationships, with football being used as a tool to break down stereotypes and barriers.

Prior to the community tournament on Saturday 14th June, a high school event will take place on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th June, followed by a primary school competition on Wednesday 11th June.

  • Entry is free for the schools’ tournaments although donations are welcomed.
  • Entry for the community tournament is £50 per team and the winning team will receive £300 in prize money.
  • All funds raised will be donated to Stretford High School’s charity partners; UNICEF and the British Heart Foundation.
