Bryan Robson's Kilimanjaro Challenge

Join United Legend Bryan Robson on a trip of a lifetime.

Bryan Robson's Kilimanjaro Challenge

This October, we are giving you the chance to join Captain Marvel himself as he leads a group of trekkers up Mount Kilimanjaro – the world’s largest freestanding mountain.

Located in Tanzania, the famous mountain stands at 5,895m and is the highest point on the African continent. During the 10-day trip, which leaves Manchester on Thursday 17th October, you will trek for seven days along the picturesque Rongai Route through farmland, rainforest and desert before reaching your breath-taking summit of Uhuru Peak.

Robson knows climbing Kilimanjaro won’t be easy, but insists he’s looking forward to the challenge:  “If you’re going to raise money for charity then it’s got to be a real challenge and not something you can easily do. That’s why climbing one of the tallest mountains in the world appealed to me.

“Hiking in the mountains, with the chance of experiencing a problem with altitude sickness and the general physical demands that come with the trek, is going to be an enormous challenge. In a funny way, that appeals to me more than something I know I can definitely do.

“The most important thing, though, is to complete the challenge and to raise as much money for charity as I possibly can.”

In addition to this once-in-a-lifetime African adventure, Red trekkers will experience receive and exclusive fitness session at the first-team training ground in Carrington and a hero’s welcome upon your return where you will be paraded on the Old Trafford pitch at half-time of a United match.

To take part in this amazing challenge you will need to pay a registration fee of £595 and raise a minimum of £4175 in sponsorship money.
