United for Unicef Gala Dinner

Sir Alex Ferguson led the strong Reds contingent at Old Trafford on Monday night for the United For UNICEF gala dinner, a glittering annual event which brings together famous faces from football, music and showbiz in support of the charity's vital work with children around the world.

TV personalities Angus Deayton (formerly of Have I Got News For You?) and Rachel Riley (Countdown) shared the hosting duties while the entertainment was provided by chart-topper Emeli Sande and former X-Factor contestant Laura White. The players and various guests took part in various fundraising activities including an auction and a gameshow-style competition, 'Game For A Gamble.'

Sir Alex commented: "It’s an important dinner because it maintains the bond we have with UNICEF. We recognise that it’s our contribution to raise the profile of the charity. It’s always a good night and Monday evening was no exception."
