Annual Santa Run

Join United Legend Paul Scholes of the Manchester United Foundation’s 2011 Santa Run on Sunday 4th December.

Join Manchester United for a Big Red Christmas

If you're looking for something festive and fun for the family this Christmas then join United Legend Paul Scholes at Old Trafford for our annual charity Santa Run.

Now in its fifth year, the annual event raises money for the Manchester United Foundation and its charity partners The Christie, Francis House and UNICEF or ANY other charity.

Paul Scholes says: “I believe Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) has started this event every year since it began so it’s an honour to take over the mantle from such a legend.  Now I’ve retired I won’t be running on the day, I will leave that to the Serious Santas, but I’m really happy to be involved and help the Foundation raise money for some great charities.”

The former United midfielder will kick off a 2K family run at 11.30am on the day and for Serious Santas a 5K route will start at 12.30pm. This year’s 5K run will take in some of Manchester and Salford’s finest landmarks. Starting at Old Trafford runners will follow a route that takes them past the Imperial War Museum, The Lowry and MediaCity finishing with a lap around the world-famous Old Trafford pitch.

Other Christmas activities will take place around the stadium with carols sung by the Manchester United Foundation choir who will serenade runners as they make their way around the Theatre of Dreams. A festive community market provided by young people from the Foundation’s Education projects will be available on the day and Manchester United Coaches will be on hand to take young runners on a ‘footy skills’ session.

Entry costs are £10 for a single entry, £5 for children or £20 for families. Enter online now or email fundraising@mufoundation.org for more information.
