Rooney’s Winning Ways

Manchester United stars past and present were joined by celebrity Reds for a round of golf and an unforgettable day, which raised over £20,000 for the Foundation.

The star-studded cast included the likes of Wayne Rooney, John O’Shea, Michael Owen, Jonny Evans and Wes Brown, along with legends Paddy Crerand, Quinton Fortune, Clayton Blackmore, Denis Irwin, Andy Ritchie and Arthur Albiston. Celebrity friends Patrick Kielty and Angus Deayton also joined the teams.

And it looked like Wayne Rooney was still in winning form following the team’s record 19th league title success last weekend. Wayne wowed the crowds with his golfing expertise and scooped both the individual winner and team titles.

Foundation Chief Executive John Shiels said: “We hope Wayne’s winning streak continues until Saturday for the team’s Champion’s League Final clash against Barcelona. On behalf of the Foundation, may I say a big thank you to everyone that took part and helped to make the day such as success. “
