A Fundraising Summer!

"We have succeeded in putting together a real diverse activity programme which has been greatly supported by our fans.” He explains, “In real United tradition everyone has been a winner, all participants have had a great time, whilst raising much needed funds to put into our programmes which will help in our work nurturing and developing young people.” Here are some of the events that were staged by the Foundation this summer:

Abseil, £50.000 raised
Manchester United charity partners, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Francis House gave 180 dare-devil fundraisers the opportunity to abseil 140 feet from the North Stand of Old Trafford!

United Relief, £180.000 raised
Over 34,000 people flocked to Old Trafford to enjoy the first ever United Relief Live: The Big Red Family Day Out.
Tinchy Stryder, The Saturdays, The Hoosiers and Tony Christie entertained the crowd with a pre-match concert.
Sir Alex Ferguson kicked off the match which saw a number of the 1999 Treble winning heroes return to play for the Reds

Golf day, £18.000 raised
Gary Neville was joined by Ryan Giggs, Michael Carrick, Edwin van der Sar, Lee Sharpe and Sir Bobby Charlton could all be seen teeing off at a celebrity Golf day at Dunham Forest. Friends of the Foundation paid to play along side a football legend and enjoyed an experience they’ll never forget.

BUPA Great Manchester 10k Run, over £2500 raised
30 runners took part in this year’s BUPA Great Manchester Run. All runners successfully completed the distance and made a fantastic contribution to the funds of Manchester United Foundation.

Charity Challenge, over £30.000 raised
Now in its third year, the Carrington training Ground opened its doors to teams representing the Foundation’s six Charity Partners.
