Carrington Training Session

Find out what happened when 60 youngsters won the chance to train at Manchester United's first team training ground.

Carrington Training Session

A group of lucky regulars from the Foundation’s Football in the Community holiday courses won the chance to take part in a special training session at the Club’s first team training ground in Carrington last week.

60 young people aged 6 - 16 attended the session after winning a prize draw when they signed up to the Foundation’s Holiday courses last year.

The Foundation coaches put them through their paces, teaching them moves worthy of the first teamers and they were even given the chance to show off their new skills to Korean winger Ji-sung Park when he dropped in for a surprise visit.

Foundation Coach Emma Gaynon said:  "The kids had a great time and were over the moon when Ji Sung Park walked in.  We taught them lots of moves including one of Ronaldo's favourites - the Scissors. To learn this move you need to position the ball to the side of your foot (near your little toe).  Lift your foot and move it around the front of the ball then plant your foot at the other side of the ball.  (As your foot goes to the front of the ball keep your toes pointed downwards)."

The Foundation’s holiday courses run every school holiday offering lots of opportunities for young people to learn new skills and meet new friends.
