Rob's support for his fellow competitors was commended and he also bagged the 'Sportsmanship' award for his willingness to help others with training tips and advice. 

Rob said, “It was a pleasure to run with every one of you out there, and I am so glad to have been a part of this amazing experience that has brought so many different people together.”

The Sahara race was a six-stage, 250km foot-race across a part of the White (and Black) desert in Egypt, finishing at the Pyramids in Giza.  Rob was one of 170 competitors from 30 countries taking part.  All competitors carry their food and essential kit in a backpack for seven days. The average distance covered in each of the first four days was 37km.  This was then followed by the ‘Black Desert March’, a 100km stage taking place over two days .
