Manchester United Foundation has been named as a finalist in three categories at this year’s Football Business Awards.

The Foundation has been shortlisted in the following categories – recognising its outstanding work to support young people through community outreach and education programmes, across Greater Manchester and beyond:

• Best Football Community Scheme – Premier League
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award
• Sponsorship / Partnership of the Year

During the 2022/23 season, the Foundation positively impacted the lives of more than 25,587 young people, delivering 116 different projects.

Of those who attended our projects, 40% are female (a 5% annual increase), 37% are from ethnically diverse backgrounds (a 2% annual increase), and 13% live with a disability (a 1% annual increase).

In the Partnership award category, the Foundation is recognised for its work in collaboration with its Presenting Partner – and the club’s Digital Transformation And Shirt Sleeve Partner – DXC Technology.

In March 2023, the Foundation and DXC launched the Digital Futures Academy; a four-year education programme aiming to enhance young people’s career prospects and give them the ambition and tools to thrive in the technology sector. At the end of year one of the programme, students on the programme recorded a 27% increase in their knowledge of technology.

The Football Business Awards ceremony will take place on Friday 24th May, when we will discover the winning entrant of each of the categories.
