The excited 14-year-old will make her way to St George’s Park National Football Centre next weekend hoping to impress England coaches during the two day camp. The Elite Performance Camps are designed to bridge the gap between Centre of Excellence and International football, providing training and support for elite female footballers at the U15 age group.

Emily has attended previous camps during her time with Manchester United and is ecstatic to be involved once more, hoping she can build on her past international experiences.

Emily said, “I was glad when I first got the call up as I’ve recently had an injury with a badly broken finger. I’m excited about the camp and I want to prove that even after my injury I can still do everything I could do before.”

Manchester United Foundation FA Girls’ Centre of Excellence Manager, Emma Fletcher added, “Emily has had a fantastic start to the season and the call up is a great reward for her efforts. In fact, all of our Centre of Excellence teams have made excellent starts and deserve the success they are achieving; it was only recently some of our players were meeting the likes Di Maria and Fletcher after some impressive individual performances.”

U15s player Honor Rogerson and U17s player Lucy Ashworth-Clifford recently took part in a skills session that included a round of keepy-uppies with new signing Di Maria during his visit to Manchester City College. Whilst over at the Aon Training Complex, U11s player Ella Kinzett and U13s player Francesca Stables took part in drills with Vice-captain Darren Fletcher and took the opportunity to gain some valuable advice from the experienced midfielder.

On her surprise meeting Lucy commented, “Meeting Angel was surreal, as we didn’t expect to be meeting him. The highlight of the day was definitely doing keepy-uppies one-on-one but I don’t think I’ll ever be as good as he was.”

Francesca was also equally as thrilled after meeting Fletcher, “Meeting Darren Fletcher was good experience and he’s a great player. His advice was to keep going and work as hard as you can. We’ve not lost a game this season and we’ve had a pretty good start."
