The Legends are Back: JLS to perform

Aston, Marvin, J.B. and Oritsé will perform a selection of their greatest hits on the Old Trafford pitch ahead of the Red Heart United Legends match and are sure to get the crowd in the mood for a spectacular day of entertainment.

The event, which aims to raise money for Manchester United Foundation, will see team manager Bryan Robson lead a United side of legends including Edwin van der Sar, Denis Irwin, Jaap Stam and Teddy Sheringham.  Real Madrid have enlisted the help of veteran players such as Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo and Fernando Hierro and hope to defend a 3-2 victory over the Reds, claimed in the first leg at the Bernabeu last year.

Red Heart United will offer a full day out for the whole family and will include special entertainment around the stadium.  In addition to JLS, further musical performances will be announced in the coming weeks. In keeping with the two clubs’ origins, there will also be the chance to try your hand at some Spanish and British themed games as well as sample traditional cuisine from both nations.

JLS took the X-Factor by storm in 2008 and have since experienced phenomenal success, achieving five MOBO awards, two BRITs and five UK number one hit singles.

All proceeds from Red Heart United will go to the Manchester United Foundation to fund projects that help young people in disadvantaged areas of Greater Manchester. 

To promote the event, the Manchester United legends took part in a viral film called ‘The Comeback’.  Directed by The Mob Film Company, the film features Bryan Robson putting the legends through their paces as they train for the game.  The film can be viewed at www.youtube.com/user/manutdfoundation
