Ladies Lunch Success

The stars stepped out in style for the Foundation's glamourous charity fundraiser.

Ladies Lunch Success

Ladies attending a fundraising lunch hosted by Manchester United Foundation mingled with celebrities and helped to raise over £20,000 for Francis House and The Christie Charity.

First to arrive on the red carpet was world-renowned illusionist DYNAMO who amazed the guests with his astounding magic in the cocktail lounge before lunch was served.

This Morning presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford hosted the afternoon introducing a wealth of entertainment from singers Cole Page and Will Mellor and keeping the crowds in fits of laughter.

"It was a fabulous event and we all enjoyed it." said one guest. "Everything seemed to run perfectly and it was a pleasure to be there. We can’t wait for next year!"

Strictly Come Dancing’s Robbie Savage and his partner Ola Jordan made a surprise appearance, with Ola encouraging host Eamonn Holmes to wiggle his hips on stage and even asking if he wanted to appear on the show next year.

Amongst the VIP guests, wives and girlfriends of the Manchester United First Team were out in force with Ana Vidic, Lisa Carrick, Sandra Evra, Hayley Fletcher, Leanne Brown, Nicky Pike, Danielle Carter, Daniela Martins and star striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernadez’s mother and sister making an appearance at the event.

Coronation Street stars Sacha Parkinson, Shobna Gulati and Jennie McAlpine also enjoyed the day along with Shameless actress Tina Malone who looked fantastic after losing over 8st in recent months.

During the course of the event guests had the opportunity to purchase charity balloons in order to enter the prize raffle. Each balloon held a ticket to reveal whether the holder would be the lucky winner of one of 26 fabulous prizes, including an overnight stay for two at the Lowry Hotel, a Paul Smith handbag, sought after concert tickets, luxurious beauty treatments and many more!

A further highlight of the afternoon was the fashion show from Harvey Nichols which showcased the new Christmas Collection and featured patients from the Young Oncology Unit at The Christie Hospital.

"We'd like to thank all our guests and everyone who helped to make the day such a great success." said event organiser Gillian Mitchell.  "It was a really special day for us all and we raised a huge amount for charity."

The money raised from the event will go towards the fantastic work that  the MU Foundation, The Christie and Francis House do on a daily basis to help make a difference to the lives of young people.
