United Relief Live: The Big Red Day Out
Sport Relief and Manchester United today announce that award winning girl band, The Saturdays, will team up with some of the biggest names in entertainment and a string of international sporting legends, in a one-off fundraising concert and celebrity football match, United Relief Live: The Big Red Day Out at Old Trafford on Saturday 1st May 2010.

The pop princesses, who brought us a string of hits including ‘Issues’, ‘Up’ and ‘Work’, will kick off a pre match concert at the ultimate family day out alongside other leading acts, to raise money for Sport Relief and the Manchester United Foundation.
The music will warm up the crowd before a star studded football match between Manchester United XI and The Rivals, featuring a mixture of Manchester United legends and celebrity supporters competing against some of their greatest rivals.
Hot off the heels of the Smithy sketch for Sport Relief, Gavin & Stacey star James Corden will be putting his football tactics to the test, alongside fellow ‘The Rivals’ team mates including George Lamb, Paddy McGuinness, Tim Lovejoy, Matt Dawson and Jason Manford.
Going head-to-head with The Rivals, is the Manchester United XI, featuring Manchester United legends and celebrity supporters. Players include Patrick Kielty, Mark Chapman and a host of footballing legends, many who played in the famous ’99 treble-winning team.
The not to be missed event will give up to 60,000 supporters a chance to see some of their heroes back in the shirt again, as well as a rare opportunity to see the tackling skills of some football aspiring celebrities.
George Lamb said: "It’s going to be a great day, United Relief Live is about having fun with family and friends as well as raising money for people who have unimaginably tough lives here in the UK. Peter Crouch is kindly lending me a pair of boots so it’s game on!”
The money raised by the event will go to fund the crucial work of the Manchester United Foundation and Sport Relief.
