Foundation Supports the Champions Challenge

The event will be held at Wright Robinson College on the 27th June and involves young people from across the whole of Greater Manchester. 

The aim of the Champion’s Challenge is to promote healthy competition amongst 11-15 year olds.  Officially launched at Old Trafford, the Challenge will give young competitors in Greater Manchester an opportunity to compete at a quality event, that encourages them go that extra mile. Teams will compete in a variety of sports and every point gained will make a difference in the league table.  Each individual and team will be responsible for gaining points for their area in an attempt to be crowned ‘Greater Manchester Borough Champions’.

All ten boroughs of Greater Manchester have fielded teams that include some of their areas rising stars.  Coaches, Representative Team Directors, National Governing Bodies and borough staff have all worked hard to put forward a team they can be proud of. 

In Great Britain’s preparation for hosting the Olympics and Paralympics, the Champion’s Challenge will capture the spirit of the world’s most famous sports competitions, and encourage the development of athletes that could go on to represent our country. 

The Champions Challenge is sponsored by ‘I love me’ and the Association of Greater Manchester PCTs and in partnership with the Manchester United Foundation.
