Wayne wins again!

The annual event, which takes place at Dunham Forest Golf and Country Club, hosted twenty-two teams, each lead by a first-team player or legend including Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Denis Irwin and Bryan Robson.

After a morning on the golf course, the teams returned to the club house for a fish and chips lunch and trophy presentation by none other than Sir Bobby Charlton.

Following an impressive performance on the green, Wayne took both the individual and team trophies for the second year in a row.

After lunch, a prize raffle took place and Coronation Street star and friend of the Foundation Antony Cotton was on hand to announce the winners of a signed United shirt and a signed England Rugby shirt.

The event raised over £18,000 for the Manchester United Foundation, which will go towards helping to change the lives of young people across Greater Manchester but providing community cohesion sessions and educational programmes.

Foundation Chief Executive, John Shiels, said, ‘Today has been a great success, everyone has enjoyed themselves and I would like to thank all involved as the money raised really will make a difference to disadvantaged children in our community.’
