Mini-Manchester Run 2009

The Foundation has places available for the Junior and Mini Manchester runs.

Mini-Manchester Run 2009

We have been offered a number of free places on the Junior and Mini Manchester Runs, which take place on Saturday 16th May, the day before the Bupa Great Manchester Run.

The run is available to children of all abilities aged 3-14 years old, with a Mini Run for 3-8 year olds and a Junior Run for 9-14 year olds, all of which take place at Sportcity in Manchester.

If you run with us then you run for free and we will provide you with your own limited edition Foundation t-shirt.  Why not ask people to sponsor your run and raise a bit of money for the Foundation’s community work whilst you are there…?

Youngsters from all over the UK travel to Manchester for this event and in previous years participants have included Ex-United player Phil Neville’s children who run in support of Manchester United charity The New Children’s Hospital.

The Junior and Mini Manchester Run is all about enjoying exercise and youngsters can run, jog or walk around the 1.8km course for the mini run and the 2.4km course for the junior run, both based entirely in Sportcity. Fancy dress is also welcomed – the more creative the better! All entrants will receive a Junior Run t-shirt before the event and once they cross the finish line they will be presented with a medal and finisher’s pack.

The day does not end there! There will be a host of free come and try it sport activities available and in previous years there has also been a funfair which children have received a discounted entry to and it’s hoped that the fair will return for 2009.

Free places are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Call Gillian Mitchell on 0161 868 8322 now for more information or email getinvolved@mufoundation.org.
