#UnitedandMe is a year-long social media campaign, during which we will be meeting young people from various Foundation projects across Greater Manchester and sharing their journeys via the Foundation’s online channels.
Each week the Foundation’s Instagram platform will be populated with images and quotes from participants and these will be supported by social media takeovers, match day activity as the 2016-17 season gets under way, and six short films hosted on the Manchester United Foundation YouTube channel throughout the year.
The first participant to feature in one of the bi-monthly films is Old Trafford ball assistant and Stretford resident, Zainab. What makes Zainab’s story unique is that she’s one of the first female ball assistants to work a full season at the Theatre of Dreams. Through her story, Zainab demonstrates that her increased determination and self-confidence have been as a result of working on a match day and taking pride in her role at the club.
“#UnitedandMe is the perfect way to showcase the impact the Foundation has on the lives of local young people,” says Manchester United Foundation chief executive John Shiels. “We relish the opportunity and privilege of working with these individuals, helping them to shape and mould their lives. Seeing and listening to them communicate how much they are engaging and developing through the experiences we offer gives us a great sense of pride and motivation to do even more.”
