Kingfisher Community Special School

The Kingfisher Community Special School has established a reputation for quality provision, as the only Primary Special School in Oldham for children with complex and severe learning needs.

Our partnership

The children face incredible challenges such as complex medical needs, profound and multiple learning needs, the social challenges of being on the autistic spectrum or needing special aids to help them communicate.

Kingfisher has grown and developed over the years and is now regarded locally and nationally as a highly successful school, that plans personalised learning through its creative and innovative approaches, with the learning environment being planned to maximise opportunities for all.

Kingfisher is a National Teaching School and the school has received three Ofsted judgments of outstanding in all areas with no significant areas for improvement in 2007, 2010 and 2014.

Kingfisher has been a Foundation partner school since September 2015.
