Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and 1968 legend Nobby Stiles will be the guests of honour at a special fundraising lunch to be held at Old Trafford next month.
The Lunch with Legends will take place in Old Trafford's International Suite on Monday 26th October at 1pm. Famous Red Patrick Kielty who will host a question and answer session with the three European Cup winners who will share their views on all things football.
The Foundation’s chief executive John Shiels is hoping that this year’s Lunch with Legends will prove as successful as the last one. Over two hundred people attended the lunch with Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar and Denis Irwin, helping to raise £46,000 for the club’s various charitable causes.
“At last year’s event it was fantastic to hear about life at United direct from three legends of Manchester United’s history, and there’s already plenty of excitement ahead of this one,” says John.
“We’re delighted that Wayne, Rio and Nobby have agreed to come along and it’s a great chance for fans to do their bit for worthy causes and ask that burning question to three of the greatest players this club, and the country, have ever seen. It promises to be another great occasion.”
The Foundation aims to use the passion for Manchester United to educate, motivate and inspire young people to build a better life for themselves and for the communities they live in. As such, funds raised from the player lunch will go towards the various causes that the Foundation supports in the local community.
Tables for the event are priced £1,250 (individual seats cost £125) with a limited number of ‘Gold’ tables available for £2,000 – there are ten places per table. Places at the lunch are expected to sell fast, so early booking is recommended.
