Kick it Out
Kick It Out is football’s anti-racism campaign and works throughout the football, educational and community sectors to challenge racism and work for positive change.
The campaign is supported and funded by the game’s governing bodies, including founding body the Professional Footballers Association (PFA), the FA Premier League, the Football Foundation and The Football Association.
Week of Action
Every year thousands of people around the country come together for the Week of Action and celebrate the contribution made to the game by all communities, of all races, cultures and religious beliefs and use the power that football has to make a stand against racism. To help clubs illustrate the unifying power of football, the Week of Action will continue with the message of ‘One Game – One Community’.
During the week of action Manchester United organises events and initiatives to portray this message. United’s match against Middlesbrough on 27th October 2007 was the main focus for this season's Kick it Out activities.
Professional Clubs Working for Equality
The Racial Equality Standard for Professional Football Clubs sets out a series of graded measures for professional clubs.
The measures encourage clubs to deliver a range of objectives that ensure equalities policies are implemented in all areas of their operation, from stewarding to the recruitment of young players.
Manchester United has achieved preliminary level and is currently working towards the intermediate level of the standard.
